Why did you want to become an engineer?
I want to become an engineer to follow in the footsteps of my loving father. Making a difference that contributes to society through engineering brings a strong sense of personal accomplishment and purpose.
What is your message to females out there who are considering a career in engineering?
Believe in yourself, have confidence in your abilities, and know that you have every right to pursue a career in engineering. Don't let stereotypes or biases discourage you. Embrace your skills and talents, and trust that you can excel in this field. Be resilient and persevere through challenges. Engineering can be demanding, but setbacks are a part of the learning process. Develop resilience and perseverance to overcome obstacles. Learn from failures, celebrate successes, and stay focused on your long-term goals.
How does safety play a part in your work?
In my role, safety is paramount. It involves risk assessment, compliance, and implementing protocols and procedures for new machine implementations. As an engineer, it is important to be skilled in identifying potential hazards and assessing associated risks. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments for projects or processes and implementing appropriate risk management strategies.
