Residential battery energy storage system

Residential Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are becoming an increasing critical component in household energy structures as we transition to a digitalized, decentralized, and decarbonized energy infrastructure. A typical residential BESS comprises lithium-ion batteries, a bidirectional inverter for DC to AC conversion, and smart energy management. They can either be added as a standalone expansion to an existing photovoltaic (PV) installation, requiring a separate bidirectional DC/AC inverter. Increasingly residential BESS are being installed as part of an integrated home energy system often comprising the BESS, PV installation and EV wallbox.
